U.S. travelers boost travel aboard Eurostar trains

Travelers from the United States boosted Eurostar revenue by 4 percent during the first half of the year compared to the same six month period last year.

That boosted revenue to $686 million. in addition, passengers increased by 3 percent to 4.7 million.

Moreover, the total number of international passengers increased by 21 percent, driven partially by the increase in passengers from the U.S., Eurostar officials said.

Eurostar officials said that travel aboard Eurostar trains also got a boost from volcanic ash clouds that grounded aircraft.
